About the Image Compressor
The PixelKit Image Compressor reduces the file size of your pictures so they load faster, fit email limits and take less storage. Drag the quality slider (it starts at 70%), compare the before and after previews and download the smaller file.
You can export as JPG for the smallest size or as WebP for modern websites. Everything is processed on your device, so private photos and client work stay private.

Frequently asked questions
How do I reduce the size of an image?
Upload your image, lower the quality slider, click Apply and compare the new size with the original. Download the result when you are happy with it.
What quality setting should I use?
Between 60% and 80% usually gives a big size reduction with little visible difference. Go higher for detailed photos and lower for web thumbnails.
Does compression reduce image quality?
Lossy compression removes a small amount of detail to save space. At moderate settings the difference is hard to see, and you can always check the preview before downloading.
Is it safe to compress private photos here?
Yes. Compression runs entirely in your browser and your files are never uploaded to PixelKit or anyone else.
